Bye Bye Bottle

We have officially said bye bye to the bottle! Yesterday was the first day that Campbell has only used her sippy cup for all of her formula/milk. I thought it was going to be a hard transition, but she totally surprised us and didn't skip a beat. We knew that when we got back from New Hampshire, we were going to spend this week weaning from the bottle...and sort of dreaded it. To our surprise, she didn't care! We are so glad to have this milestone completed and checked off the list. Our next task is to get totally switched over to whole milk. We still have some formula left, and she wasn't too fond of the taste of whole milk, so we decided to make her sippy with half formula and half milk. Hopefully this will use up the rest of our formula...can't waste that :)... and get her used to the taste of milk. We will slowly start adding more milk and less formula until we are using only milk. Hopefully this grand plan of ours will work and be as smooth of a transition as the sippy was. We'll keep you updated! For any of you moms that are wondering, we are using the born free sippy cups. They look a lot like bottles, which I think helped with the transition. It is going to be sad to pack up the bottles because it is one more reminder that our little baby is growing up...so I would say that this is a bitter sweet thing!
