Campbell is crawling!!

We are so excited that Campbell started crawling this weekend. She has been scooting for a while now, but she has officially mastered the crawl and is loving it!!! Here are a few pictures of her in action. I am working on getting a video of it and will post it when I do. You can see from the look on her face in the pictures how proud she is of herself. For my notes, she officially started crawling at Mimi and Grandpa's house on Sunday, November 23rd. Way to go C!!!!

Tutu Cute...

So I decided to get crafty and make Campbell a Christmas tutu. It turned out pretty cute and was so easy and cheap to make. She actually loves having it on and will be wearing it for her Christmas pictures. This definitely won't be the last time you see this tutu :) I have a feeling she will have one for all future holidays and celebrations!!!

It's time to lower the crib again!

Campbell has been working on pulling up on things the past few weeks. She has not quite mastered it yet and still needs a little assistance...until today! I heard some noises coming from her room this morning when she was supposed to be napping. When I walked in the room this is what I found. I could tell by the look on her face that she was SO proud of herself. So, Eric and I will have to tackle the incredibly difficult and frustrating task of lowering the crib again. Not sure why the manufacturer had to make it so complicated but whatever. Oh, we also had to take the mobile down as she can definitely pull it down now! So sad to see the mobile leave...she loves it and it still made me feel like she is a baby.

Hitchin' a ride...

On daddy's shoulders! I absolutely love this picture :) Campbell looks like such a big girl! I also love how you can really see how much Eric and Campbell look alike...it's crazy. Campbell loved riding on Eric's shoulders. She was a little fussy this weekend, but this would always cheer her up. First she hitched a ride around the house and then around the restaurant we went to for dinner.

Things that make you go hhhmmmm?

Here's a random thought from a stay at home mom. Why is it that when our husbands go out of town on business all sorts of cool freebies and upgrades get handed to them, BUT when the wifey goes along...nothing?!?!? Eric had to go out of town for the night on business. When he calls me tonight (after his first class flight I'm sure) to tell me about his day, he says that somehow he got checked into the Presidential Suite of the Westin in Chicago. I guess it was the last room they had available. It has two living rooms and a freaking hot tub on the balcony! What? No fair! I was folding laundry when he called...very glamorous. I've never flown first class or accidentally been checked into the Presidential Suite. Knowing my luck, they would have told me that they were out of rooms, but I was more than welcome to the lobby couch or the basement! Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that Eric gets to travel and sleep in style while he is out of town...but I do get a bit jealous. Eric and I have done quite a bit of traveling together and I can't remember a time when some cool upgrade just popped up for us. I guess we will just have to keep traveling until that lucky vacation that the nice ticket lady at American Airlines upgrades us to first class for no reason and the hotel puts a free hot tub on my balcony. I will dream about soaking my feet in the balcony hot tub tonight...after I finish folding the laundry :)

A new use for a household item and a new bath time game!

Today I decided to clean out Campbell's closet and once again pack up clothes that no longer fit her. So sad! Anyway, now that Campbell is more mobile she wanted to get into everything that I took out of her closet...including a pile of old hangers. So, after I put away her laundry and saw Campbell's fascination with the laundry basket, I decided to put her in it to keep her in one place. So our laundry basket now acts as a playpen as well!!! She thinks it's pretty hilarious to be in it and it allowed me to get some cleaning done. Here is a picture of her playing in it later this evening. It's amazing how you can spend thousands on the latest and greatest toys yet find your babies playing with the most simple things...such as remotes, boxes, ribbon, tupperware.....and laundry baskets!

On another note...Campbell's bath time has gotten much more interesting in the last few weeks since she has become more adventurous and confident in her ability to move around. She discovered that there is life outside of her Noah's ark bathtub :) Here are a few pictures of the new game she likes to play in the bath. She is absolutely obsessed with the drain in the big bathtub. She leans all the way over and laughs when she touches the drain...she is very proud of herself. Too cute!!

Workout Music...

As many of you know, I am training for a half marathon. The marathon is on December 14th, so I am about half way through my training. I am running with my friend Leslie, which has made the training much easier. Eric is actually running a full, yes FULL, marathon on the same day. He has been training since August and I am so proud of him. Anyway, I am putting together my ipod playlist for the run and need some input on good workout/running songs! So, please post a comment and let me know your favorite workout/running song(s). My race depends on it...ha, just kidding...but I would really like to hear from you!

Halloween was a big day in our house...

We had a very exciting Halloween at our house. Campbell absolutely loved wearing her chick costume and watching all of the kids come by the house for trick or treating. Aunt Heather stopped by for a while and Aunt Leslie and Uncle Mike came over for dinner. We had a great night...BUT what happened earlier in the day was even more exciting. Campbell finally figured out how to scoot forward. She has been moving backwards for a month or so, but could not figure out how to go forward...until now. She is so excited that she can finally get to her toys all on her own. There is a video of her scooting below...she will be crawling in no time! Way to go Campbell and Happy 1st Halloween!!!
