Madelyn's 2 week check up

We took Madleyn to see Dr. G yesterday for her 2 week check up. She is doing great and is back to her birth weight plus an ounce. Always a relief to know they are getting the nourishment they need. She is definitely our smallest baby! The other girls were always in the 50-75% across the board. Dr. G had no concerns and said she was growing beautifully. We'll go back in 2 more weeks go another check up.

2 weeks stats:
Weight: 7lbs 3 oz (30%)
Height: 20 in. (39%)
Head: 13.5 (23%)

First day of Kindergarten

Campbell started Kindergarten on Monday, sniff sniff.  She had a great first day!  She tells me that she loves her teacher and has already made some new friends.  She had no apprehension about starting, which made it easier for me.  I actually held up pretty well.  Still can't believe she is going to school every day, all day. I will say that getting me and 3 kids dressed, fed and out the door by 7:30 is no small feat.  I am still trying to get the hang of that and I am sure it will take a while to get into a good routine, especially with a newborn! I am proud of how well she is adjusting and I look forward to picking her up each day!!!  Love my big girl so much.

First week home

The first week home went pretty well.  Eric and I are adjusting to little sleep and the girls are loving having Madelyn home.  They are so sweet with her, always checking to make sure she is ok.  They love holding her and watching her in her swing.  Madelyn got her first sponge bath at home and the girls loved helping with that also.  Overall Madelyn is a great baby.  She is however so very loud at night.  Ella was a grunter and Madelyn has followed in her footsteps.  This grunting business will probably land her upstairs in her crib sooner than later.  She is such a sweet baby and has truly completed our family.
The girls pull up their chairs sit and watch her and talk to her...pretty cute.

It's bath time!!!

An arranged friendship

Maureen has been my best friend since 6th grade.  We have been through a lot together and I value her friendship more than words can say.  Remarkably, we actually got pregnant with our third babies at the same time, both had girls, and delivered at the same hospital one day apart.  We truly could not have planned that if we tried.  It was so much fun to be there together and help each other through the pain of C-section recovery and the exhaustion of sleepless newborn nights.  Our rooms were pretty much right next to each other.  We would go to each others rooms at night to talk and let Madelyn and Nora begin their lifelong friendship :)  We would go on our "walks" around the hospital floor together and laugh at how we looked like 80 year old women walking around because of our C-section pain.  I will cherish the memories from the hospital always.  It is truly every girls dream to have babies at the same time as their best friend and that dream came true for us.  We are so excited for Madelyn and Nora to be best friends just like their mommies...we are calling it an "arranged friendship!"

Madelyn Ryan

On August 14th at 3am my water broke while I was sleeping.  This was 2 days before my scheduled C-section.  We called Nana to come watch the big girls while we loaded our stuff into the car and headed to the hospital to meet our third baby girl.  We were nervous, excited and anxious.  At 7:57am sweet Madelyn entered the world and immediately showed us her lungs.  She is beautiful and has a full head of dark hair! We are so blessed to have another healthy little princess in our family.  Here are some pictures from our hospital stay.

Not very excited about her first sponge bath at the hospital

Me and all of my girls!!

The last night in the hospital we had my parents drop the girls off and we had a pajama night with dinner and a movie.  We could tell the girls were missing us and needing some family time.  The girls each got their favorite meal (Cam had pizza and Ella has mac and cheese) and we ate cupcakes and watched a movie.  It was so much fun!

Ella is always making funny faces into the camera. This time she asked me to join her :)

 Ready to go home!

Here we go!!!

Madelyn's Nursery

We finally finished Madelyn's nursery last week.  I really love the way it turned out.  I wanted to do something really sweet and "baby-ish" this time since it will be the last one I decorate.  Being that this is our third girl we (mainly Eric) wanted a room with less pink in it.  So we chose blue walls with pink, white and grey accents.  I ordered the bedding from babybedding.com and am so impressed with the quality and how soft and sweet it is.  My mom and I made the curtains and my mother in law made the adorable pillow on the chair.  We also had the furniture painted white.   I love the white furniture, it is a nice change from the dark brown, and fits in so nicely with the bedding and rest of the room décor.  It is hard to believe that she could come any day and that she will definitely be here is 2 weeks!  Can't wait to meet her!
